Quick Start

Get up and running with Rotor in under 2 minutes!

Before You Begin

  • Blender 4.2.0+ required
  • Rotor addon installed
  • Press Alt+X to test - if Rotor activates, you’re ready!

Your First Mirror

1. Create Test Object

1. Delete default cube (X → Delete)
2. Add monkey head (Shift+A → Mesh → Monkey)
3. Stay in Object Mode

2. Activate Rotor

Press Alt+X

You’ll see colored arrows:

  • Red = X axis
  • Green = Y axis
  • Blue = Z axis

3. Apply Mirror

Click any arrow to mirror along that axis. Click again to toggle off.

That’s it! You’ve mirrored your object.

Essential Controls

Tool Settings

In the header bar:

  • Mirror: Objects or Collections
  • Pivot: Active, Individual, World, Cursor
  • Orientation: Global, Local, Cursor
  • Bisect: Clean cuts at mirror plane

Tips

  • Start with single-axis mirrors
  • Object origin affects mirror center
  • Apply scale (Ctrl+A → Scale) for predictable results
